Plasmonic Particles
Modulation of Particle-Plasmons
For arrays of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) coated with vanadium dioxide (VO2), the Au particle-plasmon resonance blue-shifts in the metallic phase of VO2 with respect to the semiconducting phase because of the smaller dielectric permittivity of the former. The combined effects of polarization and VO2 phase transition allow for plasmon resonance shifts up to 200 nm.
